Also because she loves and has learned about this character over the past 2 years, Thanh Hang decided to participate in the project as both main actor and co-producer to be able to proactively develop ideas according to the goal.

Thanh Hang believes that this is a bold decision with many difficulties, but she wants to try her hand, because Vietnam has many outstanding and inspiring historical figures but there are not many movies about them.

Accompanying Thanh Hang in the Quynh Hoa Nhat Da project are director Ly Minh Thang and designer Thuy Nguyen – close collaborators who worked with her in Mother-in-Law.

The film’s producer said that because it was inspired by the life of Empress Dowager Duong Van Nga, Quynh Hoa Nhat Da will balance both historical and creative elements, to bring the audience strong perspectives and emotions.

Thanh Hang’s appearance as Duong Van Nga was also officially introduced through the first look poster and trailer: Duong Van Nga wears a red phoenix robe, wears a golden crown, sits on the queen’s throne, smiling softly with authority.

It took designer Thuy Nguyen 1,000 hours to make the phoenix robe

Contributing significantly to that atmosphere is the special phoenix robe set from Designer (Designer) Thuy Nguyen – Creative Director of the project.

According to PWD Thuy Nguyen, the phoenix robe was conceptualized based on her research through many historical documents combined with the director’s requirements about the character, adding a bit of her own creativity.

Red was chosen by PWD Thuy Nguyen for the phoenix robe that Duong Van Nga wore on her wedding day and also the day she was crowned queen, because this is a brilliant color for this meaningful moment.

Also because of the sophistication in design, the phoenix robe took 6 months to complete.

If the color represents the event nature of the outfit, then the element that creates the highlight for the phoenix robe is the meticulously and intricately embroidered motifs of the phoenix and lotus flowers on the phoenix robe.

“Thuy always wants her costumes to not only contribute to telling the character’s story but also express Vietnamese culture in it, the same goes for the costume of the character Duong Van Nga in Quynh Hoa Nhat Da .”

Sharing about the moment when she completed the phoenix robe after many months of dedication, designer Thuy Nguyen said that she was truly moved: `As soon as she saw Thanh Hang put on the phoenix robe and radiate the aura of a queen.
