Nominations for the 90th Academy Awards were announced on January 23, 2018 by Academy president John Bailey along with actress Tiffany Haddish and actor Andy Serkis.

Actress Tiffany Haddish and actor Andy Serkis.

The Shape of Water directed by Guillermo del Toro surprised everyone by leading the list with 13 nominations, followed by Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri directed by Martin McDonagh with 9 nominations and Dunkirk with 8 nominations.
